The Thought for the Week

Thought for the Week

"He Forgave His Enemies"

You have heard that it was said, "Love your neighbor and hate your enemies." But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.

Matthew 5:43-44 NCV

About This Week's Thought

Christ forgave those who hurt Him, and we should do likewise. When we forgive others, we bring ourselves closer to the Savior; when we harbor bitterness in our hearts, we distance ourselves from Him.

Your life is a series of thoughts and actions. Each day, your thoughts and actions can bring you closed to God . . . or not. When you live according to God's commandments, you reap bountiful rewards: abundance, hope, and peace, for starters. But, if your turn your back upon God by disobeying Him, you invite bitter consequences.

Do you seek to walk in the footsteps of the One from Galilee, or will you choose
another path? If you sincerely seek Christ's peace and His blessings, you must strive
to imitate Him.

Your Savior offered forgiveness to His enemies ...
. . . Now it's your turn.
